Information on the person[]
Thomas Moore was born on May 28th, 1779 in Dublin, Ireland. Studying law, he graduated from Trinity College in 1799 and continued at Middle Temple in London. He married Elizabeth "Bessy" Dyke in 1811 and had five children, all of whom died young.
In 1824, Moore started squib writing for the Whigs during the Romantic period. After the death of his friend Lord Byron, he received his memoirs and bought his biography. Moore would go on to compose and write poems in traditional Irish culture. In his final years, he became senile and died on February 25th, 1852 in Wiltshire, England.
